Brand Trade Manager
The successful candidate will develop and execute in direct coordination with the Tortuga Regional Caribbean Manager and the Tortuga Marketing Manager marketing plans and promotions. You are required to work closely with the sales and merchandising teams to facilitate the achievement of optimum brand equity, sales, distribution, brand visibility. Additionally, the Brand Trade Manager must ensure that the key marketing mix variables are in accordance with the overall Tortuga brand strategy: price, placement and promotion.
Major Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

Develop in conjunction with the Tortuga Marketing manager and the Tortuga Rum Company marketing team the annual marketing plans, promotionsS, media and product launches for the Tortuga portfolio in order to achieve the marketing objectives for Tortuga/Tortuga Rum Company Partnership in the Cayman.

Ensure timely submission of monthly/weekly reports on the portfolio to the Tortuga team

Spend at least 50% of work week in trade to ensure appropriate and timely trade marketing executions and to provide support to the sales team

Achieve and monitor monthly purchases in keeping with the portfolio’s objectives while implementing measures to address short falls

Ensure optimum quality, distribution, visibility, price, placement and promotion of the Tortuga portfolio in key accounts

Prepare draft forecasts and budget proposals and administer approved A&P budgets in collaboration with the Marketing and commercial manager ensuring that all expenses are accounted for and tracked

Monitor and submit all agreed monthly expenses incurred on behalf of Sister company and ensure timely submission and reimbursement funds

Monitor and report on all competitive activities in the trade through regular and scheduled trade visits, including appropriate tactical initiatives to counteract such competitive activity.

Develop effective tools to capture trade details relating to distribution levels and shelf presence.

Monitor product expiration dates and implement measures to keep expiries at set minimum targets.

Provide brand leadership to Merchandising team through up-to-date Planograms

Work closely with Channel Managers to ensure flawless execution of agreed promotional activities.

Work closely with Sales & Merchandising teams to ensure that all in-store promotional activities are executed according to plan.

Work closely with internal promotion teams to ensure all samplings and promotions are executed according to plan, conducting site visits and assisting with execution as required.

Provide product training to Sales, Merchandising and Promotions teams on Tortuga’s existing portfolio and new products and provide continuous guidance and assistance as required.

Build and maintain strong working relationships with the Marketing and Branding team ensuring that all requested reports are submitted in a timely manner and according to specifications

Work closely Tortuga’s resource person and along with the Supply Chain department to ensure timely and accurate forecasting and ordering of product.

Work closely with Promotions team to keep track of promotional inventory. General Accountabilities

Determine the Return On Investment (ROI) for all promotional activities with the use of sales data and promotional team reports.

Submit all claims to Tortuga finance team in a timely manner and ensure reimbursements are received.

Prepare reports and analyses on brand performance.

Review and analyze the execution of promotions, report on findings and recommend appropriate adjustments and initiatives.

Perform other duties that may be required to enhance the operations of the Company
- Minimum five (5) years prior experience in a similar role

Bachelor's degree in Business Management, International Trade, Marketing, Communication or related
field - Previous experience in Retail Trade/Branding is required
- Public Relations and Communications experience desirable
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Administration and Management — Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership technique, and coordination of people and resources.
- Sales and Marketing — Knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products or services. This includes marketing strategy and tactics, product demonstration, sales techniques, and sales control systems.
- Customer Service — Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer services including customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
