Store Lead
The Retail Store Lead is primarily responsible for the supervision of the Sales Representatives team at an assigned Tortuga Rum Company sales location or event and provides direction and supervision to ensure sound business operations. Additionally, the Store Lead completes the functions of a Sales Representative while on location providing support and conducting transactions and service to customers.
Key Duties and Additional Responsibilities Include but are not limited to:
- Overseeing and leading sales team at assigned sales store / special event.
- Achieving sales targets as laid out in the annual operating budget for the sales channel.
- Reporting on progress of sales targets.
- Encouraging & mentoring sales associates within sales stores.
- Performing end of closing and reconciliation routines.
- Presenting, promoting and selling products and services.
- Greeting and assisting customers when they arrive in the store.
- Completing online sales and home delivery orders.
- Facilitating customer purchases and transactions via cash, cheque and credit cards.
- Organizing the register area and general store.
- Answering customer inquiries, addressing and resolving customer complaints or issues and calling for assistance from other associates as necessary.
- Responding to store demand and keeping senior management team informed of trends and needs.
- Ensuring sales channel is adequately stocked and supplied at all times.
- Developing displays and promotional materials.
- Assisting sales associates in closing sales.
- Cleaning and upkeep of assigned location.
- Assists in shelving and restocking items.
- Responsibility for sales channel inventory.
- Any other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Associate degree; sales or customer service-related qualification.
- Minimum of five years’ proven experience in a similar role.
- Customer Service experience required.
- Wine and Sommelier qualification advantageous.

- Proven work experience in a supervisory role.
- Previous experience in retail and sales.
- The ability to build productive business relationships.
- Highly motivated and target driven in sales.
- Excellent selling, communication and negotiation skills.
- Prioritizing, time management and organizational skills.
- Knowledge and experience using Counterpoint is an asset.
