Brand Development Manager
JOB PURPOSE AND FUNCTION
The Brand Development Manager will be responsible for the entire Tortuga Import Portfolios. The Brand Development Manager is responsible for the management of Tortuga’s import and distribution business.
Key Duties and Additional Responsibilities Include but are not limited to:
- Distribution Management: setting standards and supporting the Head of Wholesale/sales team on points of distribution (PODs) and overall sales depletions of brands including profitability targets
- Business Development Management: responsible for bringing in new business to Tortuga’s import and distribution business with specific brand targets (beer), commission added to successes
- Portfolio Management: Responsible for adding/cutting brands into the Tortuga portfolio to maintain maximum profitability from warehouse space to margin requirements
- Local brand management and ownership: Tortuga Local Rum and other local production assets (see below)
- Category Management: Utilizing skills to ensure Tortuga is ‘owning’ all available category space and increasing market share e.g. Coca-Cola Vs. Pepsi
- Brand Managers: Responsible for performance and review of BMs focused on marketing, brand activation, brand performance in market
- Supplier travel: lead on brand visits to market allowing marketing team to focus on Tortuga Brand
- Marketing: supporting Tortuga Marketing plan through brand budgets and brands
- Tortuga Store Brand Engagement: leading our ‘selling’ to ourselves, offering deals to Retail Management, educating store leads, brand programs
- Incentives: lead all brand-led incentive programs for sales, marketing, retail, and wholesale customers
- Learning and Development lead for Tortuga import brands
- Trends, global, local market research: informing all leadership team of all trends across the market, ensuring Tortuga is leading in both alcohol/non-alcoholic beverages
- Other duties as needed
The Brand Development Manager would be responsible for creating this business plan, presenting to leadership, and then executing. Within the plan Tortuga would need:
- A plan for a real ‘local’ rum brand
- Bottling and procurement
- Human Resources plan
- Labeling and licensing
- Procurement of raw materials
- Pricing analysis and real cost value chain
- Distribution plan and goals
- Marketing plan and goals
Education/Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Branding, Business Development, Business Management or related field
- Previous experience in Retail/Wholesale Marketing is required
- Beverage distribution background at Management level preferred
- Minimum five (5) years prior experience in a similar role
- Graphic Design and Photography experience desirable
- Proficient in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
- Experience with marketing and analytics tools such as Google Analytics and content management systems
Salary: $65,000-$73,000 KYD per annum
