Head of Operations

Tortuga Rum Company is seeking a proven, hands-on operations leader to run the operational backbone of our business across Grand Cayman. This is a senior role for someone who builds systems, leads teams and makes things work, every day, across every site.

Reporting to the COO, you will own warehouses, facilities, estates, maintenance, logistics, physical security, inventory controls and capital projects across all TRC sites. You will manage a multi-functional team of up to 25 and balance sharp day-to-day execution with longer-term planning and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operational leadership across all facilities, warehouses and sites — KPIs, routines and execution standards
  • Warehouse & inventory control — receiving, storage, dispatch, stock accuracy and disciplined FIFO / expiry management
  • Maintenance management — preventative programmes, work orders, budgets and emergency repairs
  • Facilities & estate management — upkeep, repairs, renovations and long-term capital improvement planning
  • Physical security — providers, CCTV, alarms, access control and incident escalation across all sites
  • Health, safety & compliance — safety culture, risk assessments, inspections and regulatory compliance
  • Business continuity & emergency preparedness — hurricane, storm and incident response planning
  • Logistics, fleet & assets — transportation, fleet maintenance, asset lifecycle and contractor management
  • Team leadership — developing, mentoring and holding accountable operational, warehouse, security and maintenance teams
  • HQ Bakery oversight — line management of the Bakery Manager; safety, hygiene, equipment and stock controls

What We're Looking For

  • 7–10 years of progressive operational leadership; 5+ years managing multi-functional teams
  • Proven track record across warehouses, facilities, maintenance, logistics and security — multiple sites
  • Experience with contractors, budgets, capital projects and emergency operational management
  • Background in distribution, retail, food & beverage, hospitality, logistics or manufacturing preferred
  • Degree in Operations, Engineering, Business or Facilities Management — or equivalent experience
  • Visible, site-based leader who balances strategic thinking with hands-on execution
