Wholesale Sales Representative

JOB PURPOSE AND FUNCTION:

The Wholesale Sales Representative is responsible for promoting and selling a diverse portfolio of wine, spirits, and beverage products to wholesale clients, including bars, restaurants, liquor stores, hotels and resorts. This role is focused on generating new business, maintaining strong client relationships, and meeting or exceeding sales targets. The ideal candidate will have strong industry knowledge, excellent communication skills, and a passion for the beverage industry.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Achieve sales goals within assigned territory, which may include new placements, case, and revenue goals.
  • Provide educational wine training to accounts and staff through tastings, seminars, and special events.
  • Develop and continue to build relationships with Tortuga Rum Company Management and supplier partners.
  • Maintain and grow the territory and drive new business. Prioritize and plan daily for each account to maximize efficiency and territory growth.
  • Construct unique wine and spirits presentations (in conjunction with the Brands and Marketing teams) that embrace Tortuga Rum Company standards, programs, and initiatives.
  • Grow and foster professional relationships with key accounts in assigned territory.
  • Manage account receivables.
  • Continue to develop wine and spirits knowledge, business acumen and sales skills to increase professional acumen.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (orders/warehouse, purchasing, brands and marketing) to ensure seamless sales experience for customers.   
    Other duties as assigned by Sales Manager or Leadership

 JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ sales experience in the beverage, wine, or hospitality industry.
  • Experience in the wine & spirits and hospitality industry, with a keen understanding of wine varietals, production methods, pairings, and trends.
  • Self-driven with a strong sense of responsibility and integrity
  • Ability to adapt and respond to change quickly.
  • Strong Interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to identify client needs, pitch effectively, and close deals
  • Available to work flexible hours, Monday to Friday, and occasional weekends and public holidays for special events.
  • Ability to carry-out Physical activity such as - repetitively lifting a minimum of 50 lbs.; bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, twisting, and lifting .
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Must be computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (or similar software)
  • Skilled communicator (written and verbally), with strong organizational skills and able to get along well with people of multifarious ethnic backgrounds.
